Who are we?

The team behind Waypoint is a group of likeminded and driven overland camping enthusiasts and more than that, friends.

We started utilizing roof top tents during one of our other hobbies, allowing us to set up camp whenever we attended an event but it soon developed into a hobby itself, where we continually make changes to our vehicles and set ups to bring comfort, practicality and capability. We grew our own little community and formed Built2Roam overland for other people to join us on this adventure.

In 2022, following COVID-19 lock downs and time being cooped up indoors, we started talking about a way to bring together the groups of people we started to meet and become friends with, we came from hobbies where community is the basis of every event we participated in and noticed that overlanding tended to be an individual or small clique activity, we then started discussions around “waypoint” and how we can get the community together!

We set out to satisfy 3 main goals:
1. Build an Overlanding Family: Bring together overlanding enthusiasts to create a fun and supportive community where everyone can share their adventures, tips, and stories, making overlanding a more social experience.

2. Host Awesome Overlanding Events: Organize cool events where we can all meet up, swap ideas, show off our gear, and enjoy the great outdoors together. Let’s turn solo trips into exciting group adventures!

3. Share and Improve Together: Keep finding new ways to make our overlanding trips more comfortable and practical. Share your vehicle mods and camping hacks with the group so we can all benefit and make our adventures even better.

Vendors

We understand that setting up at a new event is daunting, it can be difficult to gauge how many people will actually come out and take a look and potentially become a lifelong customer. We’d still love to have you come out to the Community Campout and set up in vendor row, but we’re not going to tack on an extra vendor’s fee, we just ask that you sign up as a regular participant and that you contribute the the Saturday evening festivities by donating to the raffle.
